Vacations, no matter how long or how incredible, always seem to be too short. Coming back home and back to reality is always a bittersweet moment. As much as I am happy to be back in my own bed with the comforts of home cooked meals and my familiar routine, I can’t help but wish I was still soaking up the sun on the Spanish coast.
Spain was amazing! The early morning walks to the beach, feeling the soft sand between my toes as I lay taking in the Mediterranean and the late nights sipping sangria as the sun set over the sea. It doesn’t get much better! I was taken aback with all that Barcelona had to offer. La Rambla was busy and bustling and the perfect place for people-watching. The Sagrada Familia took our breath away with its inspiring detail and demanding presence over the city.
Spain was certainly just what I needed. The weather was perfect, we relaxed in the sun and there were certainly enough sights to fill our days making the recipe just right for some time away (and I did manage to pack pretty light!...thanks for all your tips!).
The problem with, or rather, the appeal of travelling, depending on how you look at it, is that after spending a short time in an amazing place with beautiful beaches and spectacular sights, all I want to do is see more of the world. You’d think I would just be grateful for my getaway - and believe me, I really am – but when you get a taste of all the world has to offer, it’s hard to stop with one visit to the Spanish seaside. Considering there are so many sights in Spain that I didn’t have time to take in, it’s exciting to think of all the other cities, countries and continents that I’ve yet to be able to visit. The world is so full of breathtaking views and interesting architecture, there are cities full of stories from so long ago, the landscape is so varied from one town to the next. My list of places to visit is constantly growing and I can’t imagine that it will ever stop. Talking to other travelers during my holiday has filled my head with dreams of my next vacation…hearing about cruising the Greek Islands or pub hopping through the Scottish countryside makes me wish my next vacation was weeks away instead of too many months. I am so inspired by the amazing holiday that I was so lucky to indulge in that I am so looking forward to the next one. The travel bug gets me every time!
Where do you dream of travelling to? Any suggestions for my next trip?

Oh, everywhere. You should really visit Italy, or Ireland. And definitely the French countryside! Like, all of the little towns on nowhere roads-that's what I really want to do someday. Or you could go diving at the Great Barrier Reef (can you still do that? not sure...lol!).
Spain is #2 on my vacation list. #1 is a cruise with my fiance's parents. I've never been on a cruise before, so I'm excited to experience it.. but I'm not keen on the idea of only spending a few hours in each port. :[ Glad you had a good trip!
i've never been to spain but i would LOVE to go. I would really like to visit Australia or Ireland.... or pretty much any european contry!! :)
Spain is amazing....Balazs used travel there a few times a year for works and he loved it there so much!
I am dreaming of Italy right now...I so want to go back:)
Hugs,sweetie
Ps: thank you for taking part in my GIVEAWAY!
You're holiday sounds amazing :) I was only able to spend the afternoon in Barcelona but I was blown away by it and I'm desperate to go back! I'm off to Southern France next summer and this post has made me want to go now!! :P
Barcelona was my absolute favorite! I want to go back one day. I would love to take an African Safari... that is my next dream vacation.
Wow, it looks amazing there! I am headed there next summer and can't wait! I really loved Ireland, but I love France too, and Hawaii...I LOVE Hawaii. :D

It looks like you had an amazing time there! I would love to spend a month in Spain visiting all the beautiful cities there.
I totally get what you mean - there's still so much of the world to see. I went to Greece last year and very much enjoyed it. There are still so many places I'd like to visit. Croatia and Italy are high on my list.
I could certainly use a little shot of Spain right now. I have such a case of wanderlust and no idea when I'll be able to make it a reality. Until I do, I will live vicariously through blogs like yours!
Thanks for stopping by my blog:)
I have been to the Spanish coast as well ~ it truly is breathtaking! So glad you had a fantastic trip, and I am just the same as you ~ as soon I get back from one, I am even more excited about other places I want to visit!
I love Europe, but am hoping to take my next trip to Australia. Greece is top of the list too, though :)
This is so true! It's fun to imagine throwing away the routine and really seeing the world once you get a taste. It sounds like your trip was amazing though!
My sister lives in Barcelona, so I've been lucky enough to visit several times - awesome awesome place. Ireland, Italy, and New Zealand - those are my top three on my "want to go!" list. We're planning a trip to Croatia for next summer, though, and I'm getting excited just thinking about it! Traveling is so much fun!
I feel the exact same way! Barcelona swooned me right from the start. We were there for 9 days on our honeymoon and I couldn't have spent any fewer there but there is so much more I want to see.
Thanks for your comment on my blog. I am looking forward reading through yours!
Barcelona is actually on my list to travel this fall. I will be there for 3 days in November.
as far as suggestions, I;m with you I love traveling and once you see the 'world' you want more. You know since I'm biased I will say Croatia. LOL but Italy is also wonderful. I'm still hoping to visit Greece, it's on my bucket list!
Have a wonderful weekend.
You went to Spain, darling?! How perfect! I adore the photos. And the words you used were wonderful.
And yes, that is how it is with vacations--though I love getting back into my routine I hate to have left the wonderful place I was just at and, like you said, think of other places and how much I want to travel more.
I hope to someday go to the Mediterranean, Paris (the most!), English seaside and London, and Rome! :)
XOXO-

I love this post - spain looks and sounds incredible and it has been on my list of places to visit for awhile now. I've got the travel bug too. Visit the greek isles next. take it from someone who's been and with everywhere else I want to go, I also desperatley want to go back!
Girl, you made that sound incredible...Barcelona is definitely on my list of places to hang out! my next trip will be to London (just for the weekend for a running race) but then the next major vacay needs to be barcelona or the south of france somewhere...maybe nice??
I'd recommend Switzerland of course! ;)
Ah, sounds amazing! Love Spain, but have never been to Barcelona so dream of visiting one day.
Have seen the entire north coast and Madrid though and it was all amazing!
